• July 2022 Final announcements from AEI (English, PDF)
  These final announcements note the publication of the Spanish version of "Hispanic Children with Disabilities: Recommendations on School Transportation in the United States and Mexico;" the publication of a new report, "Access and Persons with Disabilities in Urban Areas," jointly prepared by the Institute for Transportation Development and Policy (ITDP) and World Enabled; and the transfer of AEI's remaining assets to Mobility Worldwide.

  A revision of "Enhancing the mobility of disabled people: Guidelines for practitioners," first published in 2004, is scheduled to appear later in 2021. TRANSED conference set for September 2022. AEI's "Bridging the Gap" guide to school transport now posted in simplified Chinese. Conference on mobility aid provision and distribution set for September 20-22 of 2021. Editorial promotes research on the platform-to-bus gap on bus rapid transit lines. Nigeria lags in access to public transportation. Work continues on AEI's school transportation guide.   South Africa faces the challenge of inclusive transportation (photo-feature from South Africa's Dept. of Transport). AEI considers a new initiative to promote inclusive school transportation in USA/Mexico border states. UN agencies introduce AEI's school transport guide in South America.   Spanish version of AEI's school transport guide is introduced in Zacatecas, Mexico. Japanese version of the guide is now available. AEI provides workshops or presentations about our guide in Mexico, Ecuador, South Africa, and the USA. In collaboration with AEI, EquallyAble Foundation Awards to improve walking and riding to school are granted to agencies in New Delhi, India, and Jos, Nigeria. World Bank report cites a growing disability gap in educational attainment. TRANSED2018 to be held November 12-15, 2018, in Taipei.
